The TAD 6L6GC-STR BLACKPLATE™ provides a balanced take on the traditional 6L6 sound. Low frequencies are delivered with solid weight, while the high end remains clear and well-defined without becoming overly present. The tube performs reliably across a wide range of applications, from clean settings to higher-gain environments.

This model combines the long-established robustness of the Philips/Sylvania STR designs (also referenced as MESA 6L6GC-STR415) with the black-plate architecture associated with classic RCA 6L6GC tubes. The result is a stable, high-headroom tube with a smooth upper register and consistent bass response, suitable for clean amplifiers as well as multi-channel systems requiring broad bandwidth.

It features a black-plate system, gold grid wire, double-getter construction, low-noise filaments, and a heavy-duty glass envelope.
